Thomson late deals salou

Hotel staff very friendly, especially Ana who greets you when you go in for your food. She's great with kids. Bar staff are very quick, and they need to be at happy hour pm when drinks are 2 for the price of 1. The entertainment isn't the best, but it certainly isn't the worst. Pool is fantastic, we went in June and didn't find it cold at all, the initial jump in is coldish but goes straight away, and I'm fussy about things like that.

Plenty of sun loungers, no need to get up early to have one. Seating in general is very good here, never had any trouble getting a seat anywhere including the restaurant. Restaurant is very clean, plenty of high chairs for little ones.

Food is varied every night and is changed regularly to keep hot. But just pile up the potatoes and you won't notice lol. Room is basic, clean, air conditioned etc with everything you need. What more do you want to know? Port Aventura is fantastic. We bought the 7 day pass online as it cost the same as a 3 day, and a 1 day isn't enough for this place. We went there 3 days by taxi 6 Euros. So much to do here, so many shows, rides, cafes, bars, restaurants, entertainment, themes.

It's fantastic. Clean place as well, and run very efficiently. One of our group was 1. Plenty of other medium rides to go on though, so she didn't feel disappointed. Don't take the mini trains back, get a taxi. Salou itself is a very clean and friendly place I have no idea what the guy below is on about it being grubby. Beach is clean and HUGE. Bars and restaurant are nice and friendly, and what we found when we went was that it's mostly full of Spanish people which I much prefer compared to the English louts you would expect in a busy place like this, although the hotel had a couple of them, easy to avoid though, just say you don't follow football and they'll soon disappear.

Overall I was very impressed and will definitely go back here and would recommend this place to anyone, only losing marks for location slightly busy road, bit far from beach and a few families with tattoos, England shorts, shirts, towels, bras, shoes, socks, rubber rings, you name it, although why they feel the need to advertise their English when it's pretty obvious where they are from their loud accents is beyond me. I'm not anti English, we found plenty of people to talk to from England, you all know they type I'm talking about.

Don't be put off from my little rant though, it really shouldn't, as this place is fantastic, and I'd recommend to anyone. You won't be disappointed. Whilst we were aware Thomson's had moved Isreal an exceptional entertainer to another hotel we thought he would be replaced with someone reasonably good. How wrong we were. All the team i. Tall Paul etc have also been replaced and the new reps are absolutely dreadful.

1. Family Life Aegean Blue By Atlantica Hotel, Greece

Particularly the young girl who screams into the microphone all the time and would be more at home in some Karoke bar with a group of 18 - 30's. We were also shocked to discover, unlike last year, when the reps just did early evenings and one night a week, this year they were expected to provide the cabaret on quite a few of the nights, the standard of which was dreadful.

The hotel itself is still fantastic. The food is excellent, the bar staff, waitresses, cleaners etc couldn't be faulted but how Thomsons can still call this a Superfamily holiday is beyond me. The only exception is the creche, fortunately the lovely Chris is still in charge and he and his staff are fantastic, shame about the rest.

The maids do not understand the meaning of the do not disturb sign and just come wandering in. The location is good but request a room facing the pool as the roads are very noisy. Our patio door did not fit properly and we were kept up ALL night twice.

We enjoyed the resort but we would not return to this hotel if we won it in a competition". We have two boys so we always get a two bedroom apartment. Loads of room the two bed apartments over look the road which is not a problem. Hotel and service is great rooms cleaned everyday and clean towels and bedding everyday as well. We go self-catering but do use the reassuring quite a lot the food is really good.

Staff very friendly and helpful. No need for it. We strongly agree with the reps and hotel staff removing towels from sunbeds if no one is on them, as most of the holiday makers put towels down then go off to the beach for the morning.

We going back this July so I guess it will be the same again regarding sunbeds. We rate Salou 10 out of I wish we hadnt bothered the great team who entertained us last year had sadly moved on and the replacements were second rate. The girl who took over the main entertainment at night was awful her voice was shouting all the time and reminded me a bit of the fingers on a chalkboard!!

They now also waste 2 1 hour a night on Bingo it costs 1 Euro and you win a nasty bottle of wine and some Thomson gifts - someone is making some money from that idea everywhere else I have ever gone do cash prizes. The evening kids clubs were a waste of time your kids had no chance of getting in them if you werent the 1st queueing at the door at 6. In a hotel packed full of kids they only had 24 spaces which were gone within 5 mins. All in all if you went here last year expecting more of the same save your money its gone right down hill.

Even Thomson the dog only did every other night as another hotel was sharing him and the tape they play in the afternoon for the kids jumps so the kids now he isn't speaking. On a plus point the food had greatly improved and was gorgeous. We went on a self catering basis, as we were told we could buy food vouchers via a friend. We had a two bedroom apartment. I knew it was road facing when we booked, but hoped for the best The apartment itself was fine. The linen was changed mid week, and the towels every day.

There is also a laundry on site, in the basement. Very handy for washing the beach towels, but Thomson do hire out towels. Departing Dublin August 29th. Departing Dublin August 31st.
